Do you work from a photograph?
I accept commissions from all over the world, and as most pets are dreadful at staying still long enough to provide real life referencce, I will need a clear photograph or two to work form. If a blurry or very old photograph is the only option available, I will do my best to create the best portrait I can.
How long does it take to complete a portrait?
It generally takes 2-4 weeks which varies depending on size and my current waiting list. For busy times such as Christmas it is advisable to book a portrait in at least 8-10 weeks in advance to ensure availability.
Does my portrait need to be framed?
Yes. The portraits are created with pastel and although it is a very long lasting medium, it can be easily damaged and framing behind glass is the only sure way to protect it and ensure it lasts for generations. We do offer bespoke framing, but pre-made shop bought frames, even pound store frames offer just as much protection. If you decide to source a frame yourself, we can ensure the portrait is sized to fit your frame perfectly and offer instructions and advice on the best way to fit the frame. Your portrait will include a care sheet with framing advice and contact details. Clients have contacted us years after commissioning art with their framing or re-framing queries and we are always more than happy to help.
Can I commission art besides pet portraits?
Yes I accept commissions of every type, some subjects commissioned this past year have been people, cars, landscapes and even a dream! You can find details for people commissions here and for anything else please get in touch.
